Understanding your teenager - Alice Springs

Does your ‘teen’ or ‘tween’ (pre-teen) seem to speak a different language?
Do you have a 10-18 year old in your home that you just don’t understand?

This information session is for you! 

Foster and Kinship Carers (NT) in partnership with Relationships Australia are providing an informative and practical workshop to assist carers to not merely survive each other but thrive together as a positive family unit. Professional staff will be available to help answer questions about your teen and their brain.

Topics to be covered include:
• The ESSENCE of Adolescence (research by Dr Dan Siegel)
• Developmental stages of the teenager
• Why they sleep so much of the time
• Internet & social media usage and Communication tips.
This workshop will also cover some great strategies and be available to answer your questions to assist you to support your teen, understand what their needs are right now and some tips to better communicate with them.

Recommended for foster, kinship and grandparent carers of 10-18 year olds.
