We launched our Carer Support Group in Alice Springs with a get-together at the Gillen Club on Thursday, 4th July. While off to a slow start, we can see big things ahead for our Alice Springs group. We’re looking at a range of child-friendly venues and scheduling gatherings after hours and/or on weekends to maximise attendance. It’s a great way to socialise and network with other carers over a cup of coffee, or just relax. Martin, our CSO in Southern Region, would appreciate any suggestions.
We’re working on developing a cultural resource and carer support materials and equipment lending library in our Todd Street office, and we will keep you posted on progress in future editions of our e-news.
Don’t forget: sign up to our Sector Forum in Alice Springs on 1st August between 17:00 and 19:30 at Araluen Arts Centre, Larapinta Drive. It’s a great opportunity to ask those questions you’ve been itching to put to Territory Families, and there will be not-for-profit service providers as well. You can RSVP by clicking on this link. Look forward to seeing you there. If you can’t attend, you can call or email our office with your questions, and a member of our staff will make sure your question is put to the panel.
