Hot cars in the Red Centre! A good news story

Marieanna Hammond one of our Alice Springs foster carers was the lucky winner of the Red Centre NATS competition run by Yeperenye Shopping Centre.

The prize was 2 full weekend passes to Red Centre NATS and to participate in the Grand Parade. It was through winning this prize that a 17-year-old young man in her care was able to have the experience of a lifetime to go along to this event and be a passenger in an open top hot rod.

He enjoyed the Saturday and Sunday looking at all the hotted up cars brought from all across Australia out at the Alice Springs showgrounds and took part in all on offer for the two days jammed packed with exciting car related events.

The highlight was taking part in the Grand Parade which travelled along Gap Road and returned to the showgrounds. He was riding in a bright blue hot road in the first few cars of the parade. The route was lined by many spectators, locals and visitors alike eager to see the cars.

Marieanna said he arrived home tired but the ear to ear grin said it all!
