Earlier in September, Operations Manager Cheryl Schmidt, Advocate Monalisa Fungalei, Carer Support Officer Izzy Bellomo and Chair of FKCA’s Board Kay Eade attended the National Foster and Kinship Care Conference in Perth. It was an excellent opportunity to learn about programs and systems run interstate to support foster and kinship carers and the children in their care. We also heard from WA and other interstate speakers about the issues facing carers across Australia. We did our very best to absorb all the content like the sponges we are and look forward to sharing some of this with you over the coming weeks and months.
A lovely reminder of why we do what we do and the amazing work of our carers: “Walk alone if you want to go fast. Walk together if you want to go far.”
